Industrial utility piping
Steam, air, chilled water, fuel and process piping.
Utility piping carries steam, condensate, compressed air, chilled water and fuel from the plant room to the machines that use them. This page covers what we check and what to prepare before a site assessment.

What it addresses
Undersized lines, poor drainage, leaks and missing insulation waste energy and cause pressure and temperature problems at the point of use. They are also a common cause of water hammer in steam lines.
New machines and production lines often need new or re-routed utility lines, ideally planned with future expansion in mind.
What we cover
- Steam, condensate, compressed air and chilled water lines
- Fuel gas piping: natural gas, LPG, SNG and diesel
- Pressure and hydrostatic testing
- Thermal and acoustic insulation
Typical applications
- New utility lines for a new building, machine or production line
- Extending or re-routing existing lines
- Fuel gas lines for natural gas, LPG, SNG or diesel
- Replacing damaged or missing insulation
System considerations
- Flow, pressure and temperature needed at each point of use, now and after planned expansion
- Line sizing and pressure drop
- Steam line drainage, steam traps and condensate return
- Materials, supports, thermal expansion and access for maintenance
- Pressure and hydrostatic testing before commissioning
- Insulation thickness and cladding
What to prepare before an assessment or quotation
- A layout or sketch of the route, with approximate distances
- What each line carries, and the flow, pressure and temperature required
- Existing line sizes and materials, if you are extending a system
- Photographs of the plant room and the route
- Your timeline and any shutdown windows
Limits of this information
Line sizes, routes and quantities are confirmed only after a site survey. Prices depend on the final route, materials and testing required.
Assessment and quotation
Projects start with a site visit to understand the plant and the requirement, followed by feasibility and system design. Send us the details above through the enquiry form, on WhatsApp or by email, and say whether you need a technical assessment or a quotation.
